Welder cover letter example
A strong welder cover letter names the processes and metals you weld, your coded tests and the kind of work you do. It should show that you read drawings, check your own welds and work safely.

Hollin Fabrications
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to apply for the Welder Fabricator role at Hollin Fabrications. I hold coded tests for MIG and TIG on carbon steel and stainless steel, and for the past six years I have worked in a busy steel fabrication shop making frames, gates, handrails and pipework.
Quality is the part of the job I care about most. I read the drawings and weld symbols fully before I start, fit up and tack each part square, and check my welds for defects before they go for inspection. On my last job I produced stainless steel tubing for a catering equipment order with no rejected welds. I follow hot work safety rules every time, including a fire watch.
Hollin's range of work, from structural steel to stainless fabrication, would let me extend my skills, and I would like to take another coded test in pipe welding with your support. I am happy to work shifts, overtime and some site work away from home.
Thank you for your time. I would welcome the chance to meet you and take a practical test.
Kind regards,
Shane Gilmore
