Van driver cover letter example
A strong van driver cover letter mentions your licence and points status early and shows that you plan your day, not just drive. It should give one example of solving a delivery problem calmly and show care for customers and their property.

Eastgate Delivery Services
Dear Mr Lacey,
I am writing to apply for the Van Driver position at Eastgate Delivery Services, advertised on your website. For the past four years I have delivered furniture and appliances to around 12 homes a day, and I hold a full UK driving licence with no points.
I plan each day before I leave the depot. I check the route sheet, ring ahead if a customer's time slot looks tight and load the van in drop order so nothing needs moving at the door. Last month a customer was stuck at work when I arrived. I phoned, rearranged the delivery for later that afternoon and still finished the rest of my round on time.
I do my daily vehicle check every morning and report any fault straight away, and I use floor protection and take care with heavy items in people's homes. Eastgate's regular local customers appeal to me, because I prefer steady work across one area and getting to know the people I deliver to. I can work early starts, late finishes and Saturdays.
Thank you for considering my application. I would be glad to attend an interview or a driving assessment.
Yours sincerely,
Nadia Karimi
