Recruitment consultant cover letter example
A strong recruitment consultant cover letter shows that you can look after both candidates and clients and still hit targets. It should include a number or two, such as roles filled each month, plus a short example of going the extra mile.

Northgate Talent
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to apply for the Recruitment Consultant vacancy at Northgate Talent. I currently work for an independent agency placing office and admin staff, where I fill around six permanent and temporary roles a month for local employers.
I enjoy both sides of the job. I like finding the right person for a vacancy, but I care just as much about the candidate who misses out. I phone everyone I interview with honest feedback, and several have come back to me months later when they were ready to move. With clients I keep in touch every week, so they never have to chase me for an update. Last quarter I filled a payroll role that had been open for weeks by calling a candidate I had spoken to a year earlier.
Northgate has a strong name for temporary staffing in the region, and I would like to build a bigger client list with a team that values service as well as targets. I am confident with job boards, LinkedIn and an applicant tracking system, and I am happy to work to weekly targets.
Thank you for considering my application. I would be glad to discuss it with you.
Kind regards,
Jamal Hussain
Tips for a recruitment consultant cover letter
- Include one or two honest numbers, such as roles filled a month or the number of clients you look after
- Show that you look after candidates who do not get the job, since agencies rely on their good name
- Tell one short story of a hard-to-fill role or a tricky client and how you solved it
- Name the sectors you recruit for and the systems you use
- Say why you want to join this agency rather than any agency
