Elmstead Retail Group

Dear Ms Varga,

I am applying for the HR Assistant role at Elmstead Retail Group. I currently support the HR manager at a retail and distribution company of around 250 staff, looking after recruitment administration, right to work checks, contracts and employee records. I am also studying for a CIPD Level 3 qualification in the evenings.

I like work that has to be both accurate and kind. I arrange interviews, send offers and contracts, run monthly inductions for about ten new starters and keep absence and holiday records up to date for payroll. When a new starter's documents were incomplete the day before their start date, I phoned them, explained exactly what was needed and completed the checks in time.

HR teams handle sensitive information every day, and I treat it with care. I keep files secure, follow GDPR and know when to pass a question to the HR manager rather than guess. I am confident with Microsoft 365, Excel and our HR system.

Your advert mentions supporting managers across several shops, which would let me learn more about the full range of HR work. I would welcome the chance to discuss the role. Thank you for considering my application.

Yours sincerely,

Shannon Doyle
