Corner Lane Pharmacy

Dear Hiring Manager,

I would like to apply for the Pharmacy Assistant position at Corner Lane Pharmacy advertised on your website. I work in a busy community pharmacy, where I help in the dispensary by picking and labelling prescription items for the pharmacist to check, and I serve customers at the medicines counter.

Accuracy is the part of the job I care about most. I check every label against the prescription twice before it goes to the pharmacist, and I check expiry dates on the shelves every week. When a customer recently asked about a cough medicine alongside her other tablets, I did not guess and asked the pharmacist to speak to her directly. I also keep patient information private.

I would like to help with Corner Lane Pharmacy's delivery service for housebound patients, because many of my regular customers rely on a service like it. I am working towards my Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant qualification, I am comfortable with patient medication record software and ordering from wholesalers, and I can work weekdays and Saturdays.

Thank you for considering my application. I would be glad to meet the team.

Kind regards,

Rohan Desai

Questions about pharmacy assistant cover letters

Do I need pharmacy experience to apply?

Not always. Retail, care or customer service experience counts. Show accuracy, confidentiality and a willingness to train.

What should I say about working with medicines?

Keep it simple: you are careful, you check your work, and you ask the pharmacist when you are unsure.

Is 'Dear Hiring Manager' acceptable?

Yes, if no name is given, with 'Kind regards' at the close. If you can find the pharmacist's name, use it with 'Yours sincerely'.
