Dental nurse cover letter example
A strong dental nurse cover letter states your GDC registration, shows calm chairside skills and gives one example of helping a nervous patient. It should also mention infection control and say why you want to work in that practice.

Parkside Dental Practice
Dear Dr Iyer,
I would like to apply for the Dental Nurse vacancy at Parkside Dental Practice. I am registered with the General Dental Council and currently work chairside in a mixed NHS and private practice, assisting with around twenty patients a day for fillings, extractions and check-ups. I also clean and sterilise instruments, take and process X-rays, and keep the surgery stocked and ready between patients.
Many patients are nervous, and I have found that explaining each step before it happens helps more than anything else. One young man who had avoided the dentist for years asked me to stay by the chair during his treatment, and he has since booked his routine appointments without being reminded. That is the part of the job I value most.
Your advert says Parkside offers sedation and care for anxious patients, and I would like to develop my skills in both areas. I keep my infection control, radiation protection and basic life support training up to date, and I am comfortable using dental software for records and appointments.
I would be glad to meet you and the team. Thank you for considering my application.
Yours sincerely,
Shannon Ryan
