Forklift driver cover letter example
A strong forklift driver cover letter states your licence and truck types early and gives one example that shows safe habits, such as spotting a fault before it caused harm. It should also mention accuracy with stock and your availability for shifts and overtime.

Dear Mrs Sandhu,
I am writing to apply for the Forklift Driver position at Calder Valley Logistics, advertised on your website. I hold a counterbalance forklift licence and have spent the last five years driving in a busy regional distribution warehouse, loading and unloading around 20 lorries a shift.
Safety comes first for me. I complete the daily truck checks before my first lift and report faults straight away. Last winter I noticed that a hydraulic hose on my truck was weeping oil. I took the truck out of use and told my supervisor, which avoided a spill on a busy aisle. I also keep my scanning accurate, so stock is where the system says it is, and pickers are never sent to an empty location.
I also use reach trucks and pallet trucks, and I can work early, late and weekend shifts, plus overtime when it is needed. Calder Valley's larger racked warehouse interests me, because it would let me build on my experience of racking at height.
Thank you for considering my application. I can bring my licence and training records to an interview and I would welcome a practical assessment.
Yours sincerely,
Stuart Pettigrew
