Fast food crew member cover letter example

A strong fast food crew member cover letter is short, friendly and specific, with one example of speed, accuracy or staying calm in a rush. It should mention food safety and give your exact availability for evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Kingfisher Burgers

Dear Hiring Manager,

I am writing to apply for the Crew Member role at Kingfisher Burgers, which I saw advertised on your website. For the past two years I have worked as a crew member in a busy drive-thru burger restaurant, taking orders, cooking on the grill and keeping the restaurant clean.

I like a fast pace. During the lunch rush I take orders at the counter and drive-thru, repeat them back to the customer and check them before they leave, so the order is right first time. Last month the fryer stopped working during a busy evening. I told the manager straight away, moved to the counter and kept the queue moving until it was fixed.

I follow food safety rules closely, including temperature checks and allergen procedures, and I enjoy helping new starters learn the stations. Kingfisher Burgers is closer to home than my current restaurant, and I like that you open late, because I can work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Thank you for considering my application. I am quick to learn new stations and I would be glad to come in for a trial shift or an interview.

Kind regards,

Jayden Clarke

Questions about fast food crew member cover letters

Do I need a cover letter for a fast food job?

Not always, but a short one can help you stand out, especially if the advert asks for one or you have little experience.

What if this is my first job?

Describe school, sports, volunteering or helping family that shows reliability and friendliness. Say what you did and what you learned.

Is it okay to say I want to progress?

Yes. A line about wanting to train as a shift leader or manager shows ambition. Keep it short and honest.
