Harbour Street Café
Dear Mr Pryce,
I am writing to apply for the Kitchen Assistant position at Harbour Street Café, which I saw advertised in your window. For the last three years I have prepared food and kept the kitchen clean at a busy breakfast and lunch café, and I recently spent a season in a hotel kitchen.
I enjoy the steady rhythm of prep. Every morning I chopped vegetables, made sauces and set up the salad bar so the chef could start service on time. I check fridge temperatures, label and date everything, and I take allergens seriously, so I always tell front-of-house about any change to a dish. When the lunchtime queue is out of the door I stay calm and keep my station tidy.
Harbour Street Café appeals to me because your menu uses fresh, local ingredients and changes with the season, which is exactly what I would like to learn more about. I hold a Level 2 food hygiene certificate and I can start early and work weekends.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I would be happy to do a trial shift whenever it suits you.
Yours sincerely,
Amira Haddad
