Beauty therapist cover letter example

A strong beauty therapist cover letter names your qualification and the treatments you carry out, then gives one real example of how you looked after a client. It should also show that you work safely with patch tests, consent forms and cleaning between treatments.

Willow Beauty Rooms

Dear Ms Okafor,

I am applying for the Beauty Therapist role at Willow Beauty Rooms advertised on your website. I have an NVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy and three years of experience in a salon and day spa, where I carry out facials, waxing, brow and lash treatments and manicures.

Some clients arrive nervous, especially for a first wax or facial. I talk them through each step, check consent and patch tests carefully, and stop to make sure they are comfortable. One client who had avoided treatments for years now books a facial with me every month. I also turn rooms around carefully between clients so each one starts in a clean, calm space.

I would like to work at Willow Beauty Rooms because your treatment menu is focused and your reviews mention how relaxed the rooms feel, which is the atmosphere I like to create. I can work weekdays, Saturdays and some evenings, and I am happy to recommend products when they suit the client.

I would be pleased to come in for a trial treatment or an interview. Thank you for considering my application.

Yours sincerely,

Niamh Gallagher

Questions about beauty therapist cover letters

Should I mention insurance in my cover letter?

If you are applying to work self-employed or in a rented room, yes. For an employed role the salon normally arranges cover, so you can leave it out.

What if I do not offer every treatment on their menu?

Be honest. Say which ones you do confidently and that you would be happy to train in others.

How personal should the letter be?

Friendly and specific is best. One sentence about why you like their salon shows you have looked at their work.

Should I offer a trial treatment?

Yes. Many salons want to see you work, so offering one shows confidence.
