Barber cover letter example
A strong barber cover letter shows the cuts you do best, backed by one real example of a customer who keeps coming back. It should also show that you can handle walk-ins and appointments together and that you keep your tools clean.

Crown Street Barbers
Dear Mr Sandhu,
I am writing to apply for the Barber vacancy at Crown Street Barbers. I have a Level 2 in Barbering and four years of experience in a busy high-street shop, where I cut around 30 customers on a typical Saturday, with a mix of walk-ins and booked appointments.
My strongest work is skin fades, tapers and beard shaping, and I also give straight-razor shaves. One regular customer used to travel across town for a cut and now comes to me every three weeks for his fade and beard trim. I ask what he wants each time, check the result with a mirror before finishing, and keep to time so he is never left waiting long.
I have walked past Crown Street Barbers many times and like how full the shop is on a Saturday and how you welcome everyone from school children to older customers. I am happy to work weekends and late evenings. I sterilise clippers, combs and razors between every customer and keep my station tidy.
I would welcome the chance to do a trial cut or attend an interview. Thank you for your time.
Yours sincerely,
Yasmin Odeh
Tips for a barber cover letter
- Name the cuts you do best, such as skin fades, tapers or beard shaping, so the owner knows where you fit
- Give one example of a customer who comes back, and say what you do that keeps them coming
- Show that you can handle walk-ins and bookings together, since most shops run both
- Mention hygiene briefly, such as sterilising clippers and razors between customers
- Offer a trial cut, as many shops prefer to see your work before hiring
Pair it with a CV: see our barber CV example.
