Hotel receptionist cover letter example
A strong hotel receptionist cover letter shows a polite, organised manner and one example of solving a guest problem calmly. It should mention the size of hotel you have worked in, the booking systems you know and the shifts you can cover, including nights and weekends.

The Elmstead Hotel
Dear Ms Fairweather,
I am writing to apply for the Hotel Receptionist vacancy at The Elmstead Hotel, advertised on your careers page. For the last three years I have worked on the front desk of a 60-room city hotel, checking guests in and out, taking bookings and answering questions from the moment they arrive.
Reception can change in a moment. Last summer a coach party arrived two hours early while the phone was ringing and two guests were waiting to check out. I greeted the group, offered them tea in the lounge, told housekeeping which rooms to prepare first and finished the check-outs. The duty manager later told me that the tour leader had written to praise the welcome.
I am careful with bookings and payments, I cash up accurately and I write clear handover notes. The Elmstead's friendly reputation and its wedding bookings interest me, as I would like to work somewhere with a mix of leisure and event guests. I can work early, late and weekend shifts, and nights if needed.
Thank you for considering my application. I would be glad to visit the hotel and meet the team.
Yours sincerely,
Beatrice Nwosu
