Estate agent cover letter example

A strong estate agent cover letter shows that you are good with people, follow things up and handle the paperwork properly. Include a number such as viewings a week, one example of keeping a sale together, and whether you drive.

Castlegate Lettings and Sales

Dear Mrs Townsend,

I am writing to apply for the Sales and Lettings Negotiator role at Castlegate Lettings and Sales. I have worked for two years at an independent agency in a similar role, carrying out around 25 viewings a week and progressing sales and tenancies through to completion.

What I enjoy most is helping people through a big decision. Last autumn a first-time buyer nearly pulled out of a purchase when the survey came back with a few problems. I went through the report with her, spoke to the vendor and the solicitors, and agreed a small reduction, and the sale completed three weeks later. I follow up every applicant the same day and I take care with paperwork, including anti-money laundering and right to rent checks.

Castlegate's local reputation and its place on the high street are exactly what I would like to grow with. I have a full UK driving licence and my own car, and I am happy to work evenings and Saturdays.

I would be glad to meet you and talk about how I could help the branch. Thank you for your time.

Yours sincerely,

Ruth Campbell

Questions about estate agent cover letters

Do I need experience to write a good estate agent cover letter?

Not always. Sales, customer service or hospitality experience works if you show you are good with people and follow things up.

Should I mention my sales figures?

Yes, if they are honest and you say what they cover. Keep it to one or two numbers.

Should I write about the local area?

Yes. One real sentence about the agency's patch or reputation shows you have looked at the branch rather than sent a general letter.
