Tips for a mechanic CV
- List your IMI or City & Guilds levels and any manufacturer training, with the year you passed
- Add MOT tester status only if you currently hold it, and say which vehicle classes it covers
- Name the makes and types of vehicle you know best, such as petrol, diesel, vans or hybrids
- Mention the diagnostic equipment you can use and any hybrid or electric vehicle training you have
- Show honesty and customer care, for example explaining faults and avoiding unneeded work
- Include your full UK driving licence, since test drives are part of the job
