Senior care assistant cover letter example
A strong senior care assistant cover letter shows that you already lead on shift, with one example of a team or a resident's care improving. It should mention medication training, your Level 3 diploma if you hold one, and your DBS status.

Willowbrook Residential Home
Dear Hiring Manager,
I would like to apply for the Senior Care Assistant position at Willowbrook Residential Home. I currently lead day shifts in a 40-bed residential home, with a team of five carers, and I am trained to give medication, update care plans and act as the first point of contact for families, GPs and district nurses.
What I enjoy most is helping a team work well together. When a resident's needs changed after a hospital stay, I updated her care plan, went through it with the carers at handover and asked the physiotherapist to show us the safest way to help her move. Two weeks later she was walking to the dining room again with one carer rather than two. I also coach new carers through their induction, and three have gone on to finish their Care Certificate with my support.
Your advert speaks about residents choosing how they spend their day, and that is how I try to work. I hold a Level 3 diploma in health and social care, medication training and a current enhanced DBS check, and I am happy to work early shifts, late shifts and alternate weekends.
Thank you for your time. I would be glad to visit the home and meet the team.
Kind regards,
Rosemary Clarke
