Riverside Community Library
Dear Ms Abara,
I would like to apply for the Library Assistant post at Riverside Community Library. I currently work at a busy public library, where I issue and return items, deal with reservations, help people with computers and set up our weekly rhyme time for young children. I am at ease talking to people of every age and background.
I enjoy the variety of the day. One morning I might help an older man book a hospital appointment online, and the next I am setting out chairs for 25 toddlers and their parents. I am patient when people find technology difficult, and I make sure nobody feels silly for asking. I also like tidy shelves, so returned books go back in order every day.
Riverside's activity programme, especially your reading group and homework club, is what attracts me to the job. I hold a current enhanced DBS check, I am happy to work Saturdays and some evenings, and I would like to help run more events for families.
Thank you for considering my application. I would be glad to visit the library and meet your team.
Yours sincerely,
Owen Pritchard
